Olivier de Weck | Innovation & Aeronautics

Prof. Olivier de Weck, PhD is the Apollo Program Professor of Astronautics and Engineering Systems at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets and is best known for contributions to the fields of Systems Engineering, Design optimization, and Space Logistics.Tarek Ahmed Juffali Research Chair in Red Sea Ecology at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia. He led the 2010 Malaspina Expedition and has published nearly 1,000 scientific papers and three books.

In this talk, Professor Olivier de Weck explains the different areas of innovation and the degree of acceleration of technological change, commenting on specific examples from the aeronautics industry and explaining the importance of innovation clusters such as the one in Boston and MIT.
