Santander Private Banking is a new sponsor of the ACCIONA | Sainz XE Team, led by Carlos Sainz and Laia Sanz, that is competing in the inaugural Extreme E, the new electric off-road series. These races for sustainable mobility, respect for the environment, and diversity began in Saudi Arabia on 3 April, visited Sengal,Greenland and Sardinia, and will conclude the season in Bovington, United Kingdom, in December. This competition takes place in areas of the world that reflect the consequences of climate change.
This five-event global voyage will utilise its sporting platform for the purpose of promoting electrification, sustainability, and equality. The series goal is highlight the impact of climate change in some of the world’s most remote environments, promote the adoption of electric vehicles to pave the way for a lower carbon future, and provide a world-first gender equal motorsport platform.
The team Santander Private Banking is sponsoring boasts the experience of two-time world rally winner and three-time Dakar champion Carlos Sainz, and of eleven-time Dakar women’s motorbike champion Laia Sanz. Both will face this new and unique challenge with their sights set on taking the Spanish squad to the highest level of competition.

Extreme E will showcase electric SUVs and futuristic technologies. This will help car industry to develop future facing technology using racing as a platform for road innovation, which accelerates change ten-fold.
This new series also promotes gender equality in sport. The two drivers of each team will be a man and a woman, competing together in relays to win races.
